About

Hello, world!

You have reached my About page, all About this blog and me.

Simply put, I am a biologist and software engineer. I program in Python and make robots out of duct tape and cardboard. In my spare time, I play guitar, learn genetics, and go on adventures.

Less simply, I enjoy meeting intriguing strangers. I like writing about the people I meet, the places I go, and the adventures I have and will have as I travel across the universe over the next four years.

wun·der·kind
/ˈwo͝ondərˌkind/
noun
plural noun: wunderkinder
  1. late 19th century: from German, from Wunder ‘wonder’ + Kind ‘child.’

My favorite kind of intriguing strangers are wildly passionate about the things they love; they may not be children in the most literal sense, but they are children of the universe, and they are wondrous.

That's the best part of this blog—the wunderkinder I meet as I adventure from San Francisco to Seoul, Berlin to Istanbul, and back again. I'm lucky enough to go on a seven-city-long dance across the universe as I spend four years earning my Bachelor's degree.

I'll see you on the other side—or, perhaps, all seven.

Cheers,
Justine
